Who we are:

The Australian Pole Sports Federation (APSF) is a not-for-profit sporting organisation, founded by a passionate group of elite Cairns pole sports athletes in 2017. Together with the International Pole Sports Federation, we are pushing towards one unified goal: Olympic inclusion. We’re getting closer every year.

The Australian Pole & Aerial Championships (APAC) is an established national competition run by the Australian Pole Sports Federation, endorsed by the International Pole Sports Federation (IPSF). Aussie athletes have won or placed at past World Pole & Aerial Championships (WPAC). In 2019, 2021 and 2022 the Australian Championships were held in Cairns QLD. In 2023 our aim is to make the competition accessible for as many athletes as possible. With this in mind, the APSF will be moving the Australian Championships to Greater Western Sydney.

The Australian Pole and Aerial Championships include 6 Competitions, recognised globally. These competitions are:

  • Pole Sports
  • Aerial Hoop Sports
  • Artistic Pole
  • Artistic Aerial Hoop
  • Para Pole
  • Ultra Pole

These competitions have divisions for athletes from the age of 6 al the way up to the Masters 60+ category, and both single and doubles athletes can compete.

The 4th annual Australian Pole & Aerial Championships will be held at the Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre on 8th and 9th July 2023. Day 1 is closed to the public for bump-in, athlete registration & technical run-throughs. Day 2 will be open to the public & is when the Australian Pole & Aerial Championships will take place.

Our Why:

The Australian Pole & Aerial Championship benefits the Australian pole and aerial sports community by providing the only international (and one day, Olympic) standard judging platform in Australia. There, elite athletes have an opportunity to qualify for the World Pole & Aerial Championships and represent their country. Pole and aerial sports is growing globally. In 2019, The WPAC had 297 athletes from 40 countries, with double the number of para-pole athletes and large youth categories. The Western Sydney community can
be proud to be the Australian home of pole and aerial sport in 2023 and onward.

As with participation in many sports, pole and aerial sport builds communities with strong social bonds and a sense of wellbeing, social cohesion and participation.

Please note:

Due to the requirements of the International Pole Sports Federation and their overarching mission to see Pole Sports in the Olympics, this is a strictly family-friendly event. The restrictions mean that vendors are unable to display platform heels, g-strings or pasties on their promotional stands.
